We have been thrilled to have our Old Ignatians give back to our College by way of mentoring in various ways at Careers days and various workshops.
In regard to leadership preparation, hearing the experiences of recent past student leaders has enriched our student leadership days.
2017 has been the year that our College has hosted the annual Jesuit Student Leaders Conference of senior student leaders from Jesuit and Companion schools from around Australia. Speakers included those from the Jesuit Social services, Fr. Trung Nguyen SJ, SICG Board member Fr. Gerard Healy, Jennie Hickey, Delegate Education and Social Ministries, Australian Province of the Society of Jesus.
We were excited to welcome back with the group an alumni staff member of Saint Ignatius, Kerry Sidaway, former D.P and now Head of School of the Secondary Jesuit Companion school Xavier Catholic College Hervey Bay, Queensland. Other participants and presenters were some of our own current student leaders and some Old Ignatians who very capably ran sessions exploring such things as “When things get difficult in my leadership role” for which we are most grateful:
