Seeds in Space

Article by Karen Perkins

Seeds in Space

Saint Ignatius College students were successful in applying for the ‘The What’ll Happen to The Wattle??! (WHTW)’ program.

Supported by the Australian Space Agency, One Giant Leap Australia Foundation sent golden wattle seeds to the International Space Station. The seeds were in space for 7 months and then distributed to more than 300 locations around our nation.

We have received wattle seeds that have been flown to space as well as seeds that have not. The seeds are from the same seed lot. These seeds will them be germinated and grown, with data being uploaded to the ‘What’ll happen to the wattle??!’ app.

Congratulations to Will Hanley, Fin Hanley, Thomas Galan, Paddy Noble, Logan Pitts and Breanna Brew
