Victorian Youth Congress: Sarah Tolan (9 Leonard)

Victorian Youth Congress: Sarah Tolan (9 Leonard)

Every year, the Victorian Youth Congress receives hundreds of applications from young leaders across the state who are eager to make a difference. Among the 197 applicants who vied for a spot in the 2023 cohort, was a Year 9 student from Saint Ignatius College, Geelong – Sarah Tolan.

…The Victorian Youth Congress is an advisory body made up of diverse young people across metropolitan and regional Victoria aged from 12 and 25 who want to share their lived experiences and create meaningful change.

…They will work alongside government to ensure a youth perspective is embedded in the policies and decisions that affect Victoria’s young people.

Being chosen as a congress member is a huge accolade and a clear sign of the magnitude of the regard in which the judges had in Sarah.

Sarah has been a representative of the Saint Ignatius College’s Student Representative Council in Year 7, Year 8 and again this year in Year 9. She was also a member of the City of Greater Geelong Youth Council in 2022.

The College community wishes Sarah well with this worthy endeavour.
